Intro
Eh-eh… yeah
Grace no dey tire
Jesus finish am
Verse 1
I dey carry burden wey no be my own,
Stone for my back, Law for my bone.
Try do right, still fall short,
Mirror show sin but e no wash my soul.
Every rule dey talk, “Do am again,”
But my strength small, my will weak then.
Then Love wear flesh, come step inside time,
Say, “Rest, my child — this work na Mine.”
Pre-Chorus
Law fit show me road,
E no fit take me home.
Grace hold my hand say,
“You no walk alone.”
Chorus (Hook — Chantable)
Done — na Jesus finish am
No more debt, no more condemnation
Done — na Jesus finish am
Righteousness na gift, no be by labour
I no dey strive to be approved
I stand because He stood for me
Jesus end the Law for righteousness
Now I live, now I free
Final
Finish am
Finish am
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
— Romans 10:4
This is not a small theological footnote — this is the hinge of the covenant, the fulcrum of grace, the very essence of the Gospel.
- What Does This Really Mean? If Jesus is truly the end of the Law for righteousness, then something revolutionary happened at the cross. Christianity is a new covenant, powered by grace, sealed by faith, and sustained by the Spirit.
- The Purpose of the Law: 📖 We Need to Understand “The Law” and its Purpose; before we can grasp the “end” we need to revisit the “beginning.”
📖 The Law (Mosaic Law)
- “The Law was never a ladder to heaven. It was a mirror — accurate, uncompromising, and merciless. It could expose sin, but could not erase it.
- “Through the law comes knowledge of sin.” — Romans 3:20
✝️ Christ the Fulfillment
- "So, God gave us something better — not a new rulebook, but a righteous Redeemer. " Christ is the telos(τέλος) — not merely the end, but the goal, the destination, the completion of the Law. Everything the Law demanded, Jesus supplied. Everything it condemned, He absorbed."
“I did not come to destroy the Law, but to fulfill it.” — Matthew 5:17
- 🎯 Righteousness by Faith
- Under the Law, righteousness was pursued and never caught. Under grace, righteousness is received and then lived out.
🍇 Let’s Break It Down — The Law says: Do and live.
Grace says: Believe and live. “The just shall live by faith.” — Galatians 3:11; You are not under the Law - You are under grace.
📜 Righteousness no longer flows from obedience to the Law, but from faith in Christ.
Mixing Law and grace does not balance Christianity — it breaks it. The Gospel only works when Christ is sufficient.
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."(Romans 10:4)
Remaining under the Law after Christ is spiritual regression.
Let’s call it like it is:
“In the Old Covenant, righteousness came by doing and failing — again and again. In the New Covenant, righteousness comes by believing.
